On Sunday I went to my dad's birthday. He must have been good the past year, 'cause it was hot as hell :)
On Sunday I went to my dad's birthday. He must have been good the past year, 'cause it was hot as hell :)
Since my last post, I played once more in the "rabbit-club" scoring 23 points for 9 holes, getting me down to handicap 38, but having received my dgu-card, licensing me to play golf on my own, we (Allan and I) played last Friday and last Sunday.
Friday I made 35 stableford-points on my first 18 holes on a real golfcourse, finishing just one point shy of par.
On Sunday it went a little better and I scored 38 points and went down to handicap 36. This means I just have 42 extra strokes on the course. Now it's really starting to get tricky, maybe I can get a few more points, but I don't think it's going to be that many, at least not in the very near future. But then again, one never knows, maybe I'm the next Tiger Woods... I think not ;)
Also, I've played football (soccer) a few times lately, finally with a bit of success. We won the last two matches 5-2 and 6-1. We're on top of the world, already having one point more than we had last year after the first half of the season, having two matches left. Missing promotion last year by 7 points, then throwing the last couple of games not being able to win promotion. But this year, we're going for it ;)

It finally happened
It finally happened
...I'm slightly mad... No, that's not it (at least not all of it). But I finally got around to writing a new blog.
I've been to the golfclub four times (every tuesday) since my last blog, playing a miserable round four weeks ago (scoring 11 stableford points), trying to keep up with Allan, who scored 23 points. Needless to say, I didn't accomplice that task very well.
I did a lot better the next time around making 22 points, reducing my handicap to 50. Still a little high, but I'm working on it :)
Next time, on tuesday the 16th of May I played the back nine for the first time. These holes are actually a lot more fun but also a bigger challenge, as there is more water on these holes. That didn't seem to bother me to much though. Even after losing my ball on the first hole, after a great drive and fairly good fairway-game, getting 0 points on the first hole, I took my revenge on the later holes, scoring 23 points for the day. This earned me a handicap-score of 45.
Yesterday, "Hurricane-Bogey" was back, making conditions very hard. Bag-carts were driving along all by themselves, if you didn't apply the breaks properly. Despite of that we (Allan and I) managed to get the quite acceptable score of 20 points, now sending my handicap to 43 points. That's great, but of course this also means less strokes to make par next time. I'm starting to get worried...

As time goes on
As time goes on
Wow, it's been a really long time since I last wrote in this blog. I can't say it's because I've been busy, I'm spending my last weeks of vacation from the job, this vacation-year, so I should have enough time to write just a little story in this blog once in a while.
What has happened since the last blog... Well, I participated in a LAN on Good-Friday (Easter), which wasn't the success I had hoped for. A friend of mine fried his motherboard, I overheated my RAM forcing me to run half-power (1GB) so that the remaining blocks could "breathe". And a lot of others had problems running the games and getting their computers to behave as they wanted them to.
But besides that, LAN is always funny, when your computer runs. And, mine did for a few hours, that were very nice. I just hope for more up-time next time.
On tuesday I went to the golf-course with Allan for our first visit to the "rabbit-club". The weather wasn't perfect, far from it. "Hurricane-Bogey" was hitting AaGK and I "only" scored 15 points on the nine holes we played (front nine), 18 points being equivalent to par, so that wasn't too bad for the first game of the year on a course I hadn't played before. I'm looking forward to improving that score today.

What a week. It started out slowly going to an introduction of the course and a lesson about etiquette.
What a week. It started out slowly going to an introduction of the course and a lesson about etiquette.
I completed my goals in The Godfather and received the title of "Don of New York". Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it :) SO, I started to play The Eleder Scrolls IV: Oblivion... Trying to be good is sometimes hard ;)
Weekend set on me and after having worked on my new page on Friday having a quiet evening at home, Saturday set in with a rough start. Practial lessons at the drivingrange at nine o'clock hitting golfballs for an hour and a half and playing a game of football in the afternoon, knowing that my body probably would hate me for this tomorrow (Sunday). It did, as I went to the drivingrange again today, this time at eight o'clock (yawn), for another lesson, I could feel every muscle in my body ache, or at least it felt like every muscle.
Coming home, I installed another GB of RAM in my computer, that I have rescently upgraded to a dual-core AMD 64 X2 4200+ CPU. That wasn't a success and I successfully fried my motherboard >>sob<< >>sob<<
Now I'm waiting for my new motherboard and graphiccard hoping that delivery will be fast.

Wow, made it through another week.
Wow, made it through another week.
Meetings in Sulsted IF Monday og Wednesday, playing football Thursday and Saturday, making a front for my new website at h-larsen.dk Friday and going to a party and getting hammered Saturday evening.
That meant that I wasn't worth much on Sunday but at least I got to play some more The Godfather and now I'm Don of the Corleone family... Sweet. Now I just have to "convince" every store-owner that his/her business would be better off paying the Family for protection... We wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them :)
